PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE BSLCCU 10TH ANNIVERSARY

The Black Starline Cooperative Credit Union (BSLCCU) announced to the general public the launch of its tenth anniversary of operations today at the Ghana International Conference Center.  The management  specifically chose this day to make the announcement because it happens to be aligned with a great milestone.   Today they joined hands and shared one voice with millions of Pan African citizens around the world to celebrate and elevate the one hundredth (100) anniversary year of the incorporation of the Black Starline Enterprise by the visionary Marcus Mosiah Garvey.  Indeed, this is a very significant day to celebrate as a great achievement in African history.

Today the BSLCCU officially outdoored its Marcus Garvey branded savings boxes both for its adult as well as junior savers. With a strong belief that “Savings Creates Success”, the BSLCCU has since been guided by its vision which is to encourage wealth creation in communities.   In remaining committed to its mission, the union continue to provide access to vehicles that help achieve personal financial growth.

A raffle promotion which shall also run up until Farmers Day on December 6th where every share purchased from today stands a chance to win fifteen shares as a first prize worth one thousand five hundred cedis, ten shares worth one thousand cedis as second place and five shares worth five hundred cedis as third.

The BSLCCU celebrates today in solidarity with all Africans especially our brothers and sisters in Jamaica.  The management congratulates the Marcus Garvey Fair Steering Committee in partnership with the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and the Social Development Commission (SDC) with support from Hamilton Knight Associates Limited who will spearhead a grand celebration in Kingston.

Last Year on August 17th the BSLCCU held the inaugural Marcus Garvey Ball in Accra. The event was a great success as it positively engaged key stakeholders in Ghana and beyond.  The management intend to make it even bigger next year as the event will be celebrated in a biennial manner.

In alignment with the Year of Return 2019 however the BSLCCU shall host an evening of Pan African Celebration on August 17th this year at the Accra Tourist Information Centre.  As part of the celebrations the union will also conduct a community outreach on September 14th where it will donate clothes and food items gathered from its members and shareholders to present to identified needy communities.  On Farmers Day this year BSLCCU shall host a Family Day in the Legon Botanical Gardens and this will afford the union the opportunity to enjoy its members' company and spend valuable time with family and friends.

The management entreats all shareholders and members to empower themselves by creating a good savings habit!

Long Live Garvey, Long Live Africa!!!
